Maggie Gyllenhaal stopped by this week’s The View to promote her British political spy TV show The Honorable Woman, and while she was chatting with the ladies on the panel she made it clear that moms can only do so much in an eight hour work day. She admitted that on her third day of filming her show she began crying in her trailer wondering if she could manage her load in a foreign country with two little kids, but the actress was able to put it in perspective.
“The problem is when you have this expectation that you have to do everything excellently… If you just kind of go, ‘I’m going to do this scene, then I’m going to do this scene, then I’m going to go home and take care of my kids, then I’m going to go to bed, then I’m going to wake up and do it again…'”
“One step at a time”, co-host Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, a message that all moms should think about.
The 37-year-old continued with her mommy insight. “I think anyone who’s a mom knows that there is no way to do it perfectly… I think it’s constantly a struggle and you do your best…”
