Breastfeeding Bond with Daughter Saved Kendra Wilkinson’s Life

December 5, 2014 by watkinsT Leave a Comment

When news of her husband’s rumored infidelity broke, Kendra Wilkinson admitted that she contemplated taking her own life.

The 29-year-old welcomed her second child in May, her daughter Alijah, and while she was in her eighth month of pregnancy rumors began swirling in the media that her husband, Hank Baskett, had cheated on her.

In a preview of Friday’s finale of her show Kendra on Top (a clip that was obtained by People Magazine), Wilkinson said she thought about suicide. “I was at a real low. I even questioned my life,” she says. “If it wasn’t for breastfeeding Alijah, the bond that I had with her, I feel like I would have probably ended my life…. I felt like I’m not even supposed to be here.”

The finale, which airs Dec. 5 at 9 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 9 p.m. on WE tv, will explore the couple’s marital challenges and show their first sit-down interview since the chatter began.

This past September, the reality star shared her misgivings about leaving her husband. “I come from a broken home. I come from my mom and dad making a decision literally right in front of me, saying, ‘It’s over,’ and I remember the day that they just split up, and it was over,” Wilkinson told People. “That broke me as a child, and throughout my teenage years, and through now. I’ve come so close to the divorce. I have met with divorce lawyers.”

“But the one thing I can’t forget about are these two kids,” Wilkinson continued. “I was a kid at one point when my parents made a rash decision, and it hurt me still to this day. The one thing that cannot happen is making a quick decision, just based off of what the public thinks I should do. That’s the worst thing I can do for myself, it’s the worst thing I can do for my two kids.”
