Why Simple SEO Strategies Still Work (Even with AI and ChatGPT)

August 18, 2025 by watkinsT Leave a Comment

Using simple SEO strategies isn’t as hard as most people think. With the dominance of AI, it’s more important than ever to use SEO strategically so your brand stands out.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is simply the process of making your content easier to find online.
Because of SEO, I’ve seen my blog posts get millions of views, rank on the first page of Google, and watched my podcast (MOMetize Your Passion) rise from a top 5% globally ranked show to the top 1.5%.

Even with the rise of AI, you can still be discovered. In fact, because I’ve implemented specific SEO strategies across my brand, ChatGPT has cited my content several times as a source. This proves that if you use SEO strategically, even if AI tools like ChatGPT appear as the first result in a search, your brand can still be found and cited.

1. Keep SEO in Mind Wherever You Post
Whether it’s a podcast, blog, YouTube channel, or social media, keep SEO in mind—because every platform is becoming more sophisticated in how people search. If you’re using searchable keywords in your content, you’ll have a much better chance of being found than someone who isn’t. For example, if you’re in the postpartum fitness niche, your audience might search for phrases like “best workout after pregnancy” or “easy postpartum workouts.” Think about the exact words your ideal customer would type into a search bar and include those keywords in your content.

There are also some tools to help with keyword research. I’ve used  Answer the Public, Semrush, and KWFinder. Most offer a limited number of free searches each month. For a quick (and free) option, simply type your idea into Google and pay attention to the autocomplete suggestions—those are real, popular queries people are already searching.

2. Optimize Your Titles for Search
Once you’ve identified your keywords, make sure they’re in your titles. Instead of a cute but vague title like “Upleveling Your Postpartum Workout,” write something keyword-rich like “5 Easy Postpartum Workouts for Every Mom” or “Top Workouts After Pregnancy.” Titles should be short, to the point, and include the exact keywords your audience is searching for.

3. Optimize Your Descriptions and Captions
Your descriptions (for blogs, podcasts, YouTube, or even social media posts) should include your keywords and clearly communicate your message. Algorithms are smart—they’re not only scanning your keywords but also interpreting your message to match you with your audience. Use the same words and phrases your audience is typing into the search bar.

4. Repurpose SEO-Rich Content Across Platforms
Here’s what I do: I script and record my podcast episode, then repurpose it into a blog post with a slightly different keyword-rich title. Finally, I repurpose that again for social media, adjusting the wording so it matches how people search there. This way, the same content gives me multiple chances to be discovered by different audiences.

5. Personalize Your Message and Brand
Your SEO should flow through all your content, but that doesn’t mean copying and pasting the same words everywhere. Search behavior changes by platform—someone might search “easy postpartum workouts” on Google but “post-baby fitness ideas” on Instagram. Adjust your wording while keeping your core keywords consistent.

What truly sets you apart is your personal brand and voice, something AI can’t replicate. People want real connection, not generic content. I’ve interviewed hundreds of celebrity moms and high-profile mompreneurs, and many of those personal stories now rank on the first page of Google with steady traffic. That’s the power of personalization: it builds trust, authority, and visibility in ways AI can’t compete with.

Hopefully, this gave you a strategy for your next move. There is so much more to learn about SEO, but these basics should be implemented today if you haven’t already. SEO doesn’t have to be complicated. By staying consistent and optimizing your titles, descriptions, and content across platforms, you’ll increase your chances of being found—even in a world dominated by AI.
