While we don’t advocate losing weight too quickly right after giving birth we do like to hear about how other moms lose the often difficult baby weight in a safe and healthy way. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was already on a strict fitness and health regimen before she got pregnant the second time around, and she managed to maintain her healthy lifestyle.
E! News caught up with her personal trainer, Anthony Michael of Florham Park Fitness, who shared a few tips on how the reality star stayed lean throughout her pregnancy. “During this pregnancy, she was only like 128 pounds at her heaviest, and her goal was to maintain muscle mass throughout the pregnancy. We weren’t worried about fat, just maintaining her muscle mass. That was the key about quickly bouncing back after pregnancy.” Michael revealed.
The celebrity trainer is sure to also follow the doctor’s orders when it comes to his 4’9″ client. “Whatever her doctor says, that’s what we follow. She could start an easy walk when she’s 4 weeks out, then 6 weeks out weight training, cardio and plyometrics.”
“I am a trainer, but I’m the first one to tell you it’s not all about working out, it’s how you eat. She ate my food throughout her entire pregnancy. She did have cravings. She did eat pickles, ice cream here and there. But, she got the calories, nutrients she needed, the protein she needed through my food program. Calories were slightly increased, and she was in the right category for pregnant women.”
The mom of son, Lorenzo, 2, and daughter, Giovanna, 2 weeks, is committed to good health according to Michael. “Nicole is very dedicated, I can accomplish anything with her, she’s always driven.”
At the rate this Jersey Shore star is going we’re certain she’ll look great for her upcoming wedding to fiancé, Jionni LaValle, later this year.
