If you’re building a business or brand, it’s crucial to make it easy for people to find you and learn more about you before deciding to engage further or do business with you. Over the years, I’ve noticed that many people, perhaps unknowingly, make it impossible for others to find them online. Don’t be one of them. These are small but critical steps that can make a big difference.
Simple Ways to Make It Easy for People to Find You
Point People to Your Website on All Your Platforms – One of my biggest frustrations is trying to find someone’s website when I’ve subscribed to their podcast or followed them on Instagram, only to discover it’s nowhere to be found. Don’t make this mistake! Point people to your website on all your platforms. This is your digital home, where they can learn more about what you do and how to get in touch with you.
Put Your Social Media Channels on Your Website – Your social media handles should be clearly visible on your website. If someone lands on your site, they should be able to easily find and follow your social channels. This is especially important for people like me, who might want to collaborate with you or understand more about your brand before taking the next step. If I can’t find this information, I’m often hesitant to move forward.
Have an E-Mail Address – Forms on websites can feel impersonal and unreliable. Sometimes it feels like messages sent through them go into a black hole. Having an e-mail address prominently displayed gives people a direct and professional way to reach you. Make it easy for them to connect!
Have an About Me Page – Your About Me page is one of the most visited sections on any website. It’s not just about being professional; it’s about building trust and letting people know who you are, what you’re all about, and what makes you unique. This is your chance to share your story and connect with your audience on a deeper level.
Have a “Link in Bio” on Social Media – If you’re active on social media, you need to use a “link in bio” tool that directs people to a landing page. This landing page should act as a one-stop shop for all things you—links to your website, offers, blog posts, podcast episodes, or anything else you want to share. It’s all about making it easy for people to find and engage with your content.
By adding these simple but effective steps, you’ll make it easier for people to connect with you, engage with your content, and learn more about your brand. Remember, accessibility is key when building trust and fostering meaningful connections.
