Padma Lakshmi Dates “A Lot Less” as a Single Mom

Top Chef host, Padma Lakshmi, may be a popular TV personality, but that doesn’t mean the beautiful single mom is going on dates every weekend.  “I date a lot less as a single mom – I’ll tell you that!” Lakshmi told reporters at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 13th Annual Enduring Vision Benefit in New York City. “I just don’t have time”, she continued.  As a busy mom time is something that we normally need more of.  Not only is Lakshmi the host of Bravo’s Top Chef, but she’s a cookbook author, actress, model, philanthropist and mom to 4-year-old daughter, Krishna Thea.

No matter how rich, famous or beautiful you are it’s difficult to find the right partner, and the 44-year-old foodie can attest to that challenge. “As you get older, I think it’s harder to meet the right person,” she said. “You just want to be careful because you have a family.”  Venture capitalist, Adam Dell, is the father of Lakshmi’s daughter, and she was recently romantically linked to actor Richard Gere.
