The whole idea was to play a movie her kids could watch and enjoy, and it looks like Nicole Kidman got her wish. Kidman, who lives in Nashville with her husband, Keith Urban, and two small children stopped by the Today Show to promote her new family-film, Paddington. The actress plays the role of the sadistic museum taxidermist Millicent, who captures and stuffs exotic animals to house in the Natural History Museum.
Kidman said she wanted to do a movie that was fun since she had done so many heavy movies in the past, and was thrilled to do a light-hearted flick.
In addition to talking film, Kidman spoke about life with her husband Keith Urban and their daughters, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, 6, and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, 4. “I laugh a lot more now,” the 47-year-old mom admitted to host Matt Lauer. “I’m happier now.”
To protect the interests of her girls she and her husband have a rule, to not take photos with fans when her children are around. “Because our kids don’t understand what we do… So for them, it’s just, ‘Why is this stranger taking a photo of you?’ … And it’s very discombobulating for them.”
The Oscar winner went on to rave about her family life. “We have a very easy, warm, peaceful life,” the beautiful mom added. “I think that’s something that I always wanted.”
