Maternity leave is unofficially over for country singing sensation and new mom Kelly Clarkson. The 32-year-old and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, welcomed their beautiful baby girl, River Rose, last June and the Grammy winner was making the rounds on local LA radio stations talking about her new single and her new bundle.
Thankfully, the American Idol alum is getting enough sleep for all of her early morning radio spots, and her 9-month-old daughter has been instrumental in helping her mom get that much needed sleep.
“Since two months old she’s been sleeping through the night for 10-12 hours!” Clarkson enthusiastically told radio host Valentine on 104.3MYfm. Most babies begin sleeping through the night at the 4-6 month stage, according to Parents.com, so the fact that Clarkson’s little angel began her uninterrupted sleep patterns at such an early age means she gave her momma time to make music in the studio.
Clarkson just released her new single, Heartbeat, and she gave us a sneak peek of her catchy song via her enthusiastic baby girl. Check out the clip below.

It’s pretty apparent that the singer’s daughter, who’ll be one in June is also taking on her mother’s musical sensibilities. “She’s fascinated with phones and music… she’s fascinated with anything technology… She’ll cry if I don’t have music on…” Clarkson told Valentine.
The radio host then commented on the picture that Clarkson posted on her Instagram account showing off her baby’s keen technological sense. And, from the looks of that photo River has a fun, bright, future ahead of her!
