Julia Roberts recently spoke with You Magazine about being a 40-something actress in Hollywood and choosing not to go under the knife to look younger, and she also took the opportunity to talk about those heroes among us.
“I often think about the reality of my life versus a mother who, say, lives in Kansas City and is struggling to pick up the kids when she gets off work, or who doesn’t get to choose not to go to work because she wants to stay at home with the kids,” the actress tells the magazine.
“Those mothers are my real-life heroes, and they include my girlfriends, who do this with joy and grace and with full-time jobs. I don’t have to worry about it and I’m grateful for that.”
Roberts is promoting her role as the face of the beauty brand Lancome, and has said that she is happy to let nature take its course and refuses to get plastic surgery.
The 47-year-old and her cameraman husband, Danny Moder, are parents to Henry, 7, and 9-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus. After over 20 years of success with working in Hollywood the Pretty Woman star has these words. “There’s a lightness to my life now – an airy quality of not taking things too seriously. That’s happiness.”
