Jennifer Lopez’s Beauty Secrets Are a Must for Moms

January 16, 2015 by watkinsT 1 Comment

She’s one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood and the envy of many around the world, and 45-year-old Jennifer Lopez has definitely rebelled against the aging process. But, we all want to know, how does the mom of 6-year-old twins Emme and Maximilian keep that perfectly fit body and impressively flawless skin camera-ready on a regular basis? As mothers, we can use a few beauty tips from time-to-time and Jenny from the Block is sharing some of hers below.

JLo

When Lopez was on the Today Show last September she revealed some of her secrets with hosts Kathie Lee and Hoda, although she started off by making a surprising admission.

“I love sweats and I wear them to the airport. I get caught by the paparazzi all the time… I like sweats and sneakers,” the singer admits. She also said that ponytails and buns are her hairstyles of choice.

One thing that the hot mama gets asked about a lot is her skin. “I have to say that I have good genes. My mom and my grandma have good skin, so I was blessed and fortunate in that way… But, I try to get my sleep. I don’t smoke; I don’t drink… There’s other things that I try to do in a healthy way… I wash my makeup off before I go to sleep at night; I put on my moisturizer; I use my eye cream. At a certain point you have to start doing that.”

J Lo Skin

Exercise is also key and should be fit in on a regular basis. So besides dancing how does the actress keep her fabulous figure fit? “For me it’s a balance. I love to eat. I grew up on fried foods… and rice and beans,” the performer reveals. “At a certain point you have to be ‘I gotta eat a lot more greens. I’ve got to eat a lot more healthy food.’ You have to workout.  Nobody loves it. We all hate it. It’s the worst… It’s hard to do…. I love circuit training… I do 20-30 minutes of cardio. And I’ll do muscle work, with little weights. Nothing crazy, I’m not a bodybuilder. I’m just trying to stay toned and keep my muscles there…”

J Lo Body

When some people look at Lopez they wonder if she’ll ever consider plastic surgery one day. “I don’t know. I don’t judge anybody who does. You have to do what makes you feel good. I don’t know how I will feel when things (in my body) start happening… I haven’t done it…”

Most moms will probably agree that good sleep is a thing of the past, however it is a necessity. “I think sometimes we get caught up in what we need to do next and forget about what are the very essential and important things in life,” Lopez told WebMD the Magazine. “I treasure my time to sleep. It’s just as important as eating or exercising.”

In addition to sleep Lopez also believes in “me time,” or how we like to call it “mommy time.” All moms need to rejuvenate and take a moment for themselves. But, if that proves to be too difficult Lopez offers this tip. “I just breathe and clear my mind. Sometimes we just have to do nothing, just breathe.”

Lopez Beauty

But, the best beauty tip Lopez gave is one that all moms have time for. “Beauty comes from inside… It’s been said many times, but I believe it’s the truth.”

Great post! And I will be taking Jenny’s suggestions! This Xmas I received eye cream, moisturiser, and toning cream in a sweet package, but I won’t lie- I was borderline offended because I’m only 27! Eye cream seemed like it was much further down the road! One morning I woke up from a sleepless night with my toddler and spread that eye cream on like I was buttering toast :). #Loveandlearn right?
