Jennifer Lopez has been making the media rounds this week and promoting her new film The Boy Next Door, which is in theaters now, and when the actress stopped by The Wendy Williams Show she talked about everything from her favorite onscreen kiss, to her new movie to becoming a better person.
Lopez admitted that therapy has been instrumental in her evolution in life, and it seems a natural course being that the superstar has her 6-year-old twins, Emme and Max, to consider. “I’ve been working on myself a lot, especially since the divorce,” the actress tells Wendy Williams.
The 45-year-old made it clear that her kids are her #1 priority when it comes to co-parenting with ex-husband Marc Anthony. “The world has changed so much,” Lopez tells Williams. “… Now there’s families and you have to deal with other people’s kids, and then their partners, and old partners and new partners and.. I was thinking about it because of my children and how they have to deal with things… and Mark’s new wife… And, how they’re going to grow up and what’s going to happen when they grow up…”
Something the single mom is also reevaluating that has always taken center stage in the tabloids is her love life. “I always found my comfort in another person,” Lopez reveled to People Magazine. “Instead of giving myself time to heal and be on my own, I was so afraid to be that I was always like, ‘Okay somebody else just come in here and help me forget I’m in so much pain.’ ”
“Listen, at the end of the day, love is the best thing,” the performer says. “But what I’ve discovered is that I can’t get that from somebody else. It’s the love inside me, for myself, that will help me through. …The more I work on myself, the more I give myself the opportunity to share a really deep and meaningful relationship that can give me my fairy tale and last forever.”
