Jennifer Garner Calls Out the Gender Inequality Between Working Moms and Working Dads

There’s a reason why we love Jennifer Garner so much.  She’s got that girl-next-door persona down to a science, but in reality the actress really seems like a genuinely nice, down-to-earth celebrity, and she’s also not afraid to stir up a little controversy, in her sweet way, of course.

The 42-year-old spoke at the Elle Women in Hollywood celebration a couple of weeks ago and didn’t hesitate to point out the gender inequalities that exist between working moms and working dads.  She began her speech by telling the crowd why that day was so important. “I mean, the Men in Hollywood event is every day. It’s called Hollywood,” the superstar joked.

Garner said that she and her husband, Ben Affleck, 42, came home from respective press junkets one day and compared notes. “I told him every single person who interviewed me — and I mean every single one… asked me: ‘How do you balance work and family?'” the mom of three expressed.

As for the questions that her husband received.”[Ben] said the only thing anyone asked him repeatedly was about the tits on the ‘Blurred Lines’ girl!” Garner exclaimed, referring to Affleck’s Gone Girl costar Emily Ratajkowski, who famously danced naked in Robin Thicke’s popular video. “As for work-life balance, he said that no one asked him about it that day.  As a matter-of-fact, no one had ever asked him about it.  Not once.”

Garner continued: “And we do share the same family.  Isn’t it kind of time to change that conversation? For the record, he’s not on diaper duty tonight. He’s working.”
