You may need to make some adjustments.
Below, I’m sharing six key things to look at when auditing your content strategy to make sure you’re on the right track for your brand.

Audit Your Content Strategy in 6 Steps
1. Revisit Your Goals
If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know I’m big on goals. What is your long-term content strategy? Start with your one-year goal, then break that down into quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals. Ask yourself: What am I trying to achieve? (Visibility, leads, brand awareness, engagement, conversions?) Is my content moving me toward that goal — or just filling space?
2. Evaluate Your Platforms
Are you on the right platforms for your goals and your audience? I always recommend having a main long-form platform like a blog, and then supporting platforms. For example: If your audience is unorganized working moms, maybe TikTok isn’t the best fit. Maybe Pinterest or Instagram Reels makes more sense. Are you spreading yourself too thin? (Remember: Quality > Quantity) Where are you getting the most return, engagement, DMs, saves, shares, leads?
3. Review Performance Data
Every platform has analytics available, whether it’s your blog, podcast, social media, or newsletter. Pull the numbers: What content is working best? Which posts got the most saves, shares, comments, or clicks? Look for patterns: Topics, formats, time of day, hashtags.
4. Audit Your Messaging & Content Pillars
I recommend having 3–4 core content pillars or themes that you rotate regularly. For example: If your niche is unorganized working moms, your pillars could be systems for busy moms, encouragement for moms, and home organization hacks. Ask yourself: Is your voice clear and consistent? Are you speaking directly to your ideal audience — or trying to speak to everyone? Does your content reflect your unique POV, or does it sound like everyone else?
5. Check for Visual & Brand Consistency
Does your audience recognize your brand across all platforms? You don’t need to look exactly the same on every platform, but there should be visual consistency so people know it’s you. Are your fonts, colors, and vibe consistent? Does your content look recognizable at a glance?
6. Identify Gaps & Create a Plan
Evaluate what’s missing from your content strategy. Are you missing a newsletter? Clear CTAs? Consistent content themes? What should you stop, start, or double down on? Set 1–2 specific content goals for the next 30 days.
A content audit doesn’t have to take hours. With a focused approach, you can evaluate your strategy in under 30 minutes and make meaningful changes. Consistency and intentionality are key!
