On episode #28 of Time Out with Tinseltown Mom, I’m speaking with author, speaker, and consultant Rebecca Bender, a human trafficking survivor, wife, and mother of four daughters. She’s also the CEO & Founder, of the non-profit Rebecca Bender Initiative, where their trainings on this underground world equip law enforcement, first responders, and faith communities all across America.
In her late teens’ as a single mom, Rebecca thought she found her happy ending when she moved to Las Vegas with her boyfriend, but when he became her pimp at the age of 19 things quickly turned for the worst. She was abused, addicted to drugs, and forced into sex trafficking for almost 6 years, before finally finding her way of escape. She talks about all of this in her memoir “In Pursuit of Love: One Woman’s Journey from Trafficked to Triumphant.”
On this episode, we’re going to talk about her journey out of the sex trafficking industry plus ways to help our kids avoid this destructive path.
