It’s hard to believe that we’re looking at a 60-year-old woman, but it’s true. The veteran model recently celebrated the Big Day by gracing the cover of People magazine, in a bathing suit, an outfit she’s very familiar with wearing, being that she’s posed for Sports Illustrated on several spreads.
Brinkley was discovered in 1973, in a Paris post office, and ended up with one of the longest modeling contracts in history, with the cosmetics brand, Cover Girl. Now, more than 40 years later, she’s still got that “wow” factor.
One of Brinkley’s beauty tips include eating well. The super-mommy has been a vegetarian for most of her life, and her diet includes, sheep’s milk yogurt with fruit, wheat germ and Anutra, a supplement that’s packed with omega 3s and fiber.
She also adds exercise to her regular regimen. “I’ll run or do weights, and I do at least 10 minutes a day on my Total Gym machine,” she says. However, it’s important to have fun and mix it up!” Additionally, she does yoga and SoulCycle, and thanks her Broadway performance of Chicago for her incredible legs.
The, four-time divorced, model who’s appeared on over 500 magazine covers, credits her three kids for helping her stay young, Alexa Ray Joel, 28, Jack Brinkley-Cook, 18, and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, 15. She revealed to People that they are her motivation for living healthy. “Because I’m an older mom, I have a responsibility to my kids as well as myself. I want to be there for them.”
