If you’ve ever seen Brooke Burke on the cover of a fitness magazine or followed her social media sites, then you’ll know that the healthy mom is incredibly fit. On a recent blog post, Burke shared 10 ways to get moving and on your way to a healthier, fitter, sexier life.
- Write down your fitness plan – scheduling your workouts will keep you honest.
- Find inspirational visuals. Let other people inspire you, not intimidate you. Remember you’re trying to be you not anyone else, these images are just for motivation.
- Be a good friend to yourself. Compliment your efforts, have self compassion and give yourself HUGE credit for every workout.
- Find fitness challenges that you enjoy. Hiking, Pilates, spinning, family sports, circuit training, dancing, etc. Cross training is super important.
- Eat! Develop a healthy enjoyable eating plan. “diet’s” don’t work long term. You MUST eat to keep your metabolism burning. Starving is unhealthy and ineffective.
- Drink! Water is your friend. Replace sugary drinks with water. Green tea is a daily favorite of mine and I carry a water bottle everywhere, car, bedside table, office… Stay hydrated.
- Sweat! If you’re not sweating, you’re not working out hard enough. Plain and simple 🙂
- Dress the part. Fitness Fashion is so fun and can motivate and inspire you to work out. I created CaelumLifestyle so every woman can feel good while working out, and (you can) afford it.
- Lose yourself in a great playlist. Let music motivate you.
- Be stronger than your excuses because you’re worth it.
Great reminders. I know all of these tips but I push them so far into the back of my mind that I make working out a chore, something to cross off the to do list, rather than something I should be enjoying. Hiking and kayaking do help me loathe sweating a little. I just need to get my head in the right place to think sweating is good. I’m so not there yet.
Great tips! I think so often we forget the simple things when it comes to a successful fitness routine.
I just love her! She is one of the most beautiful {inside and out} women!
Great tips! Very useful and insightful. Thanks for the advice 🙂
