I’m not usually big on sports drinks. Back in my glory days, when I was a personal trainer, working out dutifully, I would consume one of these flavored drinks every once in a while, but never became an avid partaker. When I was asked to try and review BODY ARMOR I had no idea what to expect, so I put this beverage to the test.
Before testing, I needed to make sure I was putting healthy ingredients into my body, and I wanted my 4 and 6-year-old sons, and husband to also try it out. The only way that was happening was if the ingredients were natural. This is what I first discovered about BODY ARMOR:
BODY ARMOR is a premium sports drink with potassium-packed electrolytes, vitamins, and coconut water. It is low in sodium and contains NOTHING ARTIFICIAL – unlike other sports drinks on the market.
Okay, so now that I was assured that these drinks were healthy enough for my family it was time to try them out. So, on a blazing hot Southern California day I put the tropical punch and orange mango in the freezer to chill and after trying them out instantly discovered that these fruity drinks are a real thirst-quencher. I was pleasantly surprised that they also tasted great.
My husband, who is a workout fanatic, had one after exercising and although he thought it was a little sweet at first, he thoroughly enjoyed them and said it didn’t have an aftertaste like Gatorade. His favorite was the peach mango. He remarked that it didn’t even seem like he was drinking a sports drink.
I had to let my boys try them out and they enjoyed being guinea pigs. Their favorites were the lemon-lime and tropical.
For me, the natural ingredients were a deal-sealer and it seems these colorful drinks are also great for young athletes, who don’t need the extra sodium in their diets or artificial ingredients. With my kids playing soccer it’s a great alternative to other sports drinks, so I’ll be sure to keep these delicious drinks handy, especially for the summer months!
BODY ARMOR is available at the following Southern California retailers: Ralph’s, Target, Stater Bros and Albertson’s. Want to try them out? CLICK HERE to receive a coupon.
