Tinseltown Mom had a chance to chat with rising star Jessie Chris about her anti-bullying advocacy and we were touched to hear that her school days of being bullied inspired her to help other kids. Because the 2018 Billboard Artist to Watch and Elvis Duran’s TODAY Show Artist of The Month was a victim herself she has been able to use her music as a platform to bring awareness and empowerment to those going through similar situations.
Chris set a personal goal to visit at least 100 schools in 2018—51 schools have been visited to date—to speak with students about bullying prevention. She’s scheduled to visit over 75 more schools this fall. In addition to Chris’s music, she is the face of The Ad Council’s #BeMore Campaign as well as Sylvania Lighting’s #BeTheLight Campaign. She has also authored a children’s book on bullying and recently released her latest single and empowerment anthem Rome. We were so thrilled to speak with this talented artist.
