If you’ve been keeping up with The Little Couple’s journey on TLC then you’ll know that in December of 2013 Dr. Jen Arnold was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, stage 4 choriocarcinoma, due to a non-viable pregnancy she had two months prior. She bravely allowed the cameras to document her struggle and also shared her sickness with her two children, Zoey, 3 and Will, 4 1/2.
“I wanted to be really open with them about what was going on,” Arnold tells the TLC cameras. “…We didn’t hide anything, getting shots at home, my hair loss, going to the hospital, coming to visit me during my getting chemotherapy treatments…”
She said if you asked them what cancer was they couldn’t explain it, but, “What they did get was that mommy was sick… and they actually say, ‘mommy’s sick,’ the 41-year-old explains. Arnold said that she and her husband, Bill Klein, wanted them to understand the sickness and not be afraid of it.
“They’re going to learn about it some day,” the mom of two continued.
