Anna Faris Talks About Her Son Being Born 9 Weeks Premature

February 12, 2015 by watkinsT Leave a Comment

Pregnancy is a moment in time that comes with immeasurable joy, unexplained love and overwhelming expectancy, but when there are complications real fears come alive. Many pregnant mothers have had to face the reality of delivering a baby before it’s full-term of 39-42 weeks, and being a celebrity does not make one immune to this heartache.

Anna Faris experienced and faced this fear head-on when she delivered her son, now 2, 9 weeks early. She opened up to Redbook Magazine about that painful experience.

“My water broke in the middle of the night at seven months,” the actress revealed to Redbook. “We rushed to the hospital, and they were able to halt active labor with magnesium. I was at the hospital and the goal was to be in bed for four weeks… but on the seventh day, I went into labor again. I was in denial. For hours I was like, ‘I’m just having indigestion.’ Chris and I were so scared, but when Jack came out, even though he was so tiny, he looked so good to us.”

Even with her scare, Faris had her husband, actor Chris Pratt, by her side the entire time. “It’s one of those things that drives you apart or makes you closer. I think that being a father is very meaningful and rewarding to Chris. He’s a great dad. He’s a little more serious than he was before. It forces your hand. You really have to become an adult.”

Anna shared this photo of a typical night for her, Chris, toddler Jack, and their pug Bonzo. Anna Faris Talks Fear of Delivering a Premature Baby

Faris stars on the CBS sitcom Mom, a show that touches on the very real struggle of finding work-life balance as a parent, and as the 38-year-old tells the mag, “Motherhood is like a big sleeping bag of guilt.”

We’re pretty certain a lot of moms can relate to that sentiment.
